Supreme Court Rejects Trump's Midterm Mail Ballot Curbs
Of the Supreme Court, rejecting his bid to impose new restrictions. With voting already underway now, this decision keeps existing mail in ballot procedures in place for November. The president lashing out at the court, including the justices he appointed himself. Let's get right to Bloomberg's Jeff Mason, who joins us live from the white House on a beautiful North Lawn this evening. Jeff, the president, this very long post seems very angry.
What's going through his mind? Yeah, he's absolutely not happy, Joe. And part of that anger was directed at the members of the Supreme Court who are on that court because he appointed them. And then, of course, they were confirmed. And that's not the first time that he has criticized them. He was also very critical, sometimes in personal terms, of those justices when they ruled against him on tariffs. So this is absolutely a blow to the president, to someone who I think has the expectation that jurists or anyone who he puts into a job are somehow going to remain loyal to him.
But seven members of the Supreme Court ruling against them and saying that this action, this executive order with regard to mail in voting, was not constitutional.
