This is a Bloomberg money minute. Stocks and lower today the tech sector taking the brunt of it after an historic selloff in shares of Google's parent company alphabet. Shares fell nearly 13%. It lost almost $500 billion in market value after a disappointing earnings report. And with inflation in September rising 3.6% year over year, offsetting better than forecast economic growth in the summer's third quarter. The Dow today fell 133 points, the Nasdaq down 365.

That's a one and a 30% drop. The S&P lost 24 shares of the home security company ADT, shooting up 33% after a venture capital firm owned by Josh Kushner, brother of President Trump's son in law Jared, made a deal to buy it for $7.6 billion. Chipotle shares 9% higher after better than forecast sales and profits. But after the bell, a couple of earnings misses from big tech companies, including chipmaker Intel and Amazon.com.
