Shares of Tesla getting a boost in the premarket after it unveiled its long delayed roadster in Texas at the SpaceX facility there, a sports car demonstrating stunts powered in partnership with SpaceX engineers. Matt Bloxham of Bloomberg Intelligence joins us now for more. Matt, a cynical person would say that this was rolled out in earnest and pretty quickly in order for there to be an argument for Tesla and SpaceX to merge.

Is that what's going on here? Yeah. I mean, I I think it's certainly part of the story, and, yeah, it's definitely kinda teasing in in that direction, you know, because ultimately, the the Roadster isn't gonna be available until 2028, and this, space version of it, if it actually does become a real car, does seem a little bit gimmicky. But, you know, there's been a lot of discussion more seriously about a possible tie up between SpaceX and Tesla for quite some time, and Elon Musk, yes, they even kind of, you know, talking up the the overlap between, the companies.

Obviously, they already collaborate on TerraFab, which is a big, data center kind of AI, initiative. And there's obviously huge amounts of, data within within Tesla that could potentially be quite powerful for the AI platforms of SpaceX. So, you know, I think a lot of investors out there anticipate at some point, there will be an announcement that, SpaceX and Tesla are going to merge, but we'll see nothing official on that yet from the company.

Yeah. I mean, the shots are really stunning and quite spectacular assuming that, it would work every time the way it's working here. Can I ask you about Netflix replacing its chief content officer? Is it gonna work? I mean, the the previous person who had been replaced had done a lot to sort of broaden out the audience or at least try to, Matt. Yeah. That's right. I mean, like, you know, I think Netflix is facing way more competition than than it ever has.

It's an incredibly, crowded market now in terms of kind of online content. So I think, you know, to some degree, it does make sense to kind of freshen up, that that kind of chief officer position and think more carefully about the kinds of content Netflix needs to continue to make to really make it stand out and to justify, I guess, not so much now the subscriber growth because, you know, there is still growth to go for, but it's definitely slowing.

So I think there's the big challenges, for the for the incoming, kind of new new officer, but, you know, I think that there's a big challenge there for... In what's an incredibly crowded market for content these days.
