John Ternus opens the new Apple segment with a big bang: Apple just announced HomeView, a $299 smart display with Siri AI.

It combines a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, an A18 chip, FaceTime and smart home controls. It recognizes up to six people and switches to each person’s apps and widgets. Siri can draw on your messages and calendar through a paired, Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhone or iPad.

This allows Apple to directly translate its Siri AI into hardware and make it available everywhere. Availability starts November 13. Siri AI launches in English, with HomeView unavailable in the EU at launch (not surprised).
