That's fueling worries about rising inflation and increasing the likelihood of a Federal Reserve rate hike when it meets next week. At the close today, the Dow down 405 points, three quarters of a percent lower. The Nasdaq down 168. Two thirds. Percent lower. The S&P was down 37. Oil back above 96 bucks a barrel. That's the highest since July.
Among the big decliners, Comcast shares down 7% after admitting no improvement last quarter in broadband subscriber losses. A lot of customers jumping ship to cheaper rivals. GameStop shares rose 5% in selling fewer video games, but it's making a killing in collectible trading cards like Pokémon and Magic The Gathering, which now account for half of its revenue. And Apple's new foldable smartphone, the duo will start at $2,000.
But for those who want a bit more memory, its two terabyte version of the duo will cost you a whopping $3,200. Tom Buzbee Bloomberg.
