And right now we are two minutes away from the end of the trading day. Romaine Bostick here with Sally Bakewell taking you through to that closing bell. It's a global simulcast with Tim Santa and Lisa Mateo in today for Carol Massar. Welcome to our audiences across all of our Bloomberg platforms, television and radio. Our partnership with YouTube. As equity markets try to get their mojo back, heading for a green closed today after, uh, a bit of a sell off the previous three days.

Yeah, maybe that's why they're heading for a green close. We spoke to Derek Wiener over on the US equities team. He said this was a little bit of a of a catch up rally. Still you have to question about um I think some people would say wait a second. What about what we saw in the bond market earlier this week? And what about those elevated oil prices that remain so investors at least optimistic to be long. Some of these stocks today.

Yeah. And that's what I want to touch upon those oil prices. So I look at Brent crude about $95 a barrel at about 710% WTI crude, $90 a barrel for about half a percent. Um, and this is the U.S. and Iran, uh, conflict starts to increase once again after. Kind of a sleepy time for it. Now it's back up in action again, and I'm watching for five bellows earnings, which we're about to hit any minute, any minute now. It's the maker of the squishy dumpling, which I know we are all owners of, and the company has posted for best earnings and it's in a pretty decent it's about to post probably robust earnings and is in a pretty decent position no doubt on the balance sheet, decent cash.

So yeah, talking about whether there are prospects for returns to shareholders, we're also going to hear from PVH and Petco from the consumer side. And of course quite a few tech earnings, a couple that might actually be consequential. We're going to hear from Broadcom. And whether Hock Tan is uh, finding sort of a way to sort of lean further into the eye trade. We're going to hear from HP, snowflake, NetApp as well as C3.

I for now though, we get the closing bells in New York, and it is going to be green across the screen for most of the major indices Dow transports sitting this one out, but the Dow industrials adding about 300 points or 6/10 of 1% on the day, the S&P adding roughly 36 points or half a percent, a half a percent gain for the Nasdaq Composite, a 2/10 of a percent gain for the Nasdaq 100, and you're outperforming on the day.

It's little guys, the small caps, the ones that Carol Massar love so much. The Russell 2000. It's 2000 of them Tim Sandvik adding 33 points or 1.1%. She's on vacation. I don't think she's she's lost small caps. She's listening. I know she is sailing the high seas right now and a little ham radio or wherever they got here. I think they have Starlink out there now, today, I don't know. So maybe she's watching. Hi, Carol.

Uh, three stocks higher for every two stocks that were lower in the S&P 500. Sally 302 moved higher. 200 fell today. That is right. Looking at the iMap function one of our favorite. And we can see that it is the communications services sector that seems to be boosting things at the moment, followed by both healthcare and financials. But it's looking pretty strong. Well, let's talk about some of the stocks that moved higher today.

We got to start with Dell. I mean this was just a remarkable report. Shares were up more than 200% going into this. Uh Dell shares up while on the day 15.8%. Today, uh, we see shares jumping after the company boosted its annual sales forecast due to surging demand for servers to run. I, I know we're getting some earnings. Romaine. You can keep going. Can I keep. I like the Dell story. Yeah Dell story is good I mean I'm fascinated by it I'm Rafal we're going to hear Broadcom from Broadcom later HP as well.

So maybe we'll get. So HP will be interesting because I mean if Dell I mean you saw that I mean they've raised their forecast with 25 billion. Yeah. Added to that 192 billion for the year uh is what they're expecting here. That's phenomenal. So so what is HPE going to do tonight. That's the question I'll tell you and I'll tell you in about seven minutes. Um, or maybe even three minutes. I think we'll be gone. Uh, the, uh, the I server forecast though, to contextualize this a little bit, a three fold increase over the prior year, the company's more than $130 billion in server orders just in the past 12 months.

I mean, I think that set the tone for the day straight. That's why I wanted to start with it. I also want to check in on GE for Nova, because this is a story about the US and a story about Venezuela as well. Shares closed for G. Ivanova, up by 2.6% today. The company has committed to repairing large portions of Venezuela's power grid as part of a series of deals to boost the country's energy output. Venezuela's grid has deteriorated over the past two decades.

Experts estimate the power sector needs at least $25 billion in investment. Ivanova shares today up 2.6%. And I got it. Anytime there's an excuse to talk about the sphere. The sphere? The sphere, I'm going to talk about it. Yeah. Did you do that? You went to the Backstreet Boys show there, didn't you, Ramon? What? No, I did not. Oh, I thought you did. Next time, next time. Okay, I'm. I'm waiting for NSYNC to go. Okay.

Uh, shares up 5.5% today. This, of course, is the the sphere in Las Vegas. Carol and I, when we saw the Wizard of Oz and 4D. You've heard of 3D? We saw it in 4D. Okay. Okay. Wait. Yeah. What, are you guys just on vacation together? What do you know? We were there for work. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah. Uh, and, hey, I actually thought. I thought we could expense the tickets because I'm talking about the sphere all the time, but, no, I had to pay.

We had to pay for the tickets ourselves. Yeah. It was worth it, though. Sure. All right. We'll check your expense account. Yeah. Can I get the five below here? Okay. You get to five below. Yeah. Uh, the discount retailer out with its earnings will be, uh, pretty much across the board. Adjusted EPs at $1.68. Street was looking for a $1.39 net sales in the quarter at $1.26 billion. That's also a beat as well. Comp sales up 14%.

The streak was looking for a jump of about 11%. And for the full year, the company says expect guidance comp sales, excuse me, of 10 to 12% for the full year. The street was looking for 9%. The shares are up about 1 to 2% in the after hours trade. All right. What does Winnie Park say? The CEO of Five below, Winnie Parks, says, quote, we are thrilled with our second quarter performance and the continued momentum of our customer centric strategy when he says the crew delivered strong results by collaborating on trend right product stories at amazing value in stores that are fun and easy to shop.

We remain maniacally focused on delivering our brand maniacally. Yeah, okay. The promise to be the destination for the kid and the kid and all of us. I have actually never been to a five below. I know, I know what you want, but it's all like it's a lot of candy. I think also when my kids get a little older. I came in the other day on Lisa and he was eating for breakfast. Literally a carrot. A what? It was a purple carrot.

It's a great source of antioxidants. No hummus? No, I. Can I join you in not having been to a five below? But I know that the company has been leveraging the social media and the influencer trend. Mhm. We got other earnings crossing as well. Shares of five below up by 2.6%. Uh looking at shares of NetApp right now in the after hours shares of that up about 7/10 of 1%. It's an application software company in the real estate space.

Uh, first quarter adjusted EPs coming in above estimates at $0.58. The outlook, though the company see second quarter net revenue 2.03 to $2.18 billion. That beat estimates significantly and second quarter net revenue. The company sees, excuse me, second quarter adjusted EPs estimates at 254 to 264 hp. Crossing the wi
