Inflation Fears Rise as Oil Climbs on Hormuz Reports: Bloomberg Money Minute
This is Bloomberg money minute. Worries about inflation are on the rise ahead of a report on consumer prices for July, out tomorrow. Crude oil futures are higher on reports out of Iran that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until President Trump is out of office. US small business owner optimism rising last month to the highest level in nearly a year as inflation pressures eased earlier and firms ramped up their hiring plans.
Recall the best selling sedan in the nation, Toyota, recalling over a half a million late model Camrys in the US to fix a display screen error that could deactivate some safety indicators, including turn signals and hazard lights, increasing the risk of an accident. And events in Chicago being very closely watched on Wall Street, with Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson pushing for a temporary moratorium on data centers and signing an executive order today to create new rules for any future developments.
