1. 🆕 Binance: hackers stole $6.3 billion from the world's biggest crypto exchange, most of it in 20 minutes. The biggest crypto heist ever, 4x the old record. The FBI says North Korea did it. 2. 🆕 Ukraine and Russia: hackers took over both countries' official air-raid alert apps on the same night. Phones in Kyiv lit up with fake nuclear, chemical-attack and radiation warnings, and in one region a fake radiation alarm blared from street loudspeakers. Ukraine blames Russia. 3. 🆕 Japan: 830 data leaks in October, nearly 3x September. Hackers hit Muji (27 million app accounts), tour company Club Tourism (4.3 million), booking site Rakuten Travel (3.4 million), Sony's internet service (2.6 million), fast-food chain Matsuya (2.4 million), insurer Sony Life and the Foreign Ministry, and an email company's leak grew to 51 million records, including bullet-train bookings. The Prime Minister called in her cyber ministers and ordered emergency measures. 4. 🆕 China: state hackers let AI agents run their break-ins, going after 200+ organizations in 14 countries in 11 days, including foreign ministries and a European prime minister's office. CrowdStrike says about 140 were hacked, and calls it the first AI-run state hacking it has seen at this scale. Microsoft caught Chinese hackers using the same AI tool to hammer 2,250+ organizations' email and office accounts at 2,900 login attempts a minute. 5. 🆕 Vietnam: 220 million airline traveler records, with names and passport numbers going back to 2017, sat open online. If you've flown in or out of Vietnam since 2017, you may be in it. (Found by researchers in June, reported Oct 22.) 6. 🆕 Moldova: hackers stole personal data on 750,000 people, about a third of the country, including health insurance, pension and disability records. Its cyber chief called it the biggest cyberattack the country has ever recorded. 7. 🆕 Anthropic: an unreleased AI found 62 serious holes in Chrome alone, and built working attacks against Chrome, Safari, Android phones, Windows and Linux. For Chrome, clicking one bad link was enough. (Lab work, not used in attacks.) 8. 🆕 Linux: a hole lets attackers take over unpatched Linux servers, the computers that run most of the internet, without anyone clicking anything. 9. 🆕 Firefox: GLM 5.3, a Chinese AI model anyone can download and run, broke into 6 versions of Firefox on its own, for about $1,000 per version once set up. 10. 🆕 Google: criminal gangs and spy groups are now using AI hacking agents in real break-ins. One group typically got from a single stolen login to deep inside a company in about 4 hours, once in 15 minutes. One tool's creator deleted it over the abuse; copies keep spreading. 11. 🆕 Russia-linked hackers: a Bloomberg investigation found them breaking into factories, utilities and food plants across Europe and the US since 2024. They stopped crematorium ovens at a Spanish funeral home, a factory caught fire, 450 Danish homes lost water, and refrigeration was shut off at a meat plant near LA, spoiling 2,000+ pounds of meat and forcing an evacuation over an ammonia leak. 12. 🆕 Airlines: hackers sat undetected for 3 years inside Amadeus, the booking system behind many of the world's airlines. JAL, ANA, Cathay Pacific, Korean Air and Malaysia Airlines have warned customers, some that passport numbers were taken. Qantas is checking, and hotels and car rental firms were hit too. 13. 🆕 Volt Typhoon: the Chinese state hackers US officials have warned are getting into position to disrupt American infrastructure in a war hid behind hijacked home routers to break in through 4 never-before-seen holes. Hundreds of victims, including water and energy companies. 14. 🆕 Homeland Security: names, phone numbers and office locations of 40,000+ staff, including immigration and border agents, are now posted online. DHS warned of "harassment, stalking and physical harm" and asked the host to take it down. The host refused. 15. 🆕 Florida: hackers got the Social Security numbers of 4.9 million people from the state's student financial aid website 16. 🆕 FEC: the system that shows who is spending money to sway US elections went dark for 41 hours after a hacking attempt, a week before the midterms, hiding last-minute spending by big donors 17. 🆕 AI developer platforms: Warp, CommandCode, Northflank and Trigger .dev, services programmers use to build and run apps, all disclosed breaches. Wiz counts 9 such platforms hit this month. Thieves resell the stolen AI keys: one was used for 1.7 million AI requests in 13 hours, on someone else's bill. 18. 🆕 Node2Shell: hackers are now exploiting a hole in a compression tool built into software that runs a huge share of websites and apps (Node.js, .NET, Python and more), CISA says 19. 🆕 Cursor: the popular AI coding app served a booby-trapped copy of the real Claude Code add-on from its official store for 11 hours, exposing up to 5,000 programmers to a backdoor 20. 🆕 South Korea: police caught a 7-person ring that used an AI hacking tool to break into 90+ hospitals, schools and companies and steal 8.2 million records 21. 🆕 Capcom: the maker of Resident Evil and Street Fighter had 11.7 million player accounts breached 22. PHP2Shell: a hole in the software behind ~70% of websites. Governments took sites offline. UPDATE: now confirmed used in real attacks. Palo Alto confirmed some customers' firewalls were hacked, and suspected Chinese hackers using AI tools took over 25 servers, including on a US government-affiliated network. A third PHP hole has no emergency fix. 23. eMudhra: the master keys that prove websites are real were cracked. One was the number 4. UPDATE: eMudhra is quitting the business. Cloudflare caught ~160 attempts to use fake certificates for other companies' sites, the first less than an hour after the flaw went public. 24. California: data on every public school student since 2023 stolen, including disability status 25. Railway: hackers stole customers' secret keys from a hosting platform used by millions of developers. UPDATE: up to 100,000 customer workspaces had their keys exposed. 26. Zeabur: 321,810 accounts breached. The company is shutting down. 27. LiteLLM: an AI tool downloaded 3.4 million times a day was poisoned with a password stealer 28. GitLab: a 10-out-of-10 severity hole in every version since 2014. UPDATE: a second 10-out-of-10 GitLab hole is now being used in attacks. 29. Cairn: criminals used an AI hacking tool to break into 100+ companies 30. Ahold Delhaize: hackers knocked the owner of Food Lion and Stop & Shop offline 31. Onamae: malware planted on up to 26,739 customer servers in Japan. UPDATE: the company's investigation points to North Korea. Hackers demanded $50 million, posted customer data and made unauthorized trades. Customers were told to unplug their PCs.

This list was compiled and written by Claude Opus 5.5. I spend hours trying to stay on top of this shit every day but it's just way too much for any one human. I kept telling Claude to be more thorough, and every round it would find like 10 more incidents, and after hours of research I decided it was time to ship this.
