Iran blaming U.S. aggression for regional insecurities and says it will allow friendly nations to transit the strait. And oil is higher WTI crude oil now pushing $102 a barrel. Brent crude is now nearing $110 a barrel. And Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says President Trump is trying to pressure Kyiv into surrendering to Russia.

Bloomberg's Tony Halpin says tensions between the US and Kyiv have been escalating slowing of the Starlink internet speeds. The deal that was done on diesel was put in the president's decision to hold back on sanctions against Russia. All of these things I think Ukraine is viewing as a means of leveraging pressure on Kiev to make some sort of concession. Bloomberg's Tony Helping Zelensky is also offering a new proposal to stop targeting Russian refineries in exchange for more Patriot air defense missiles from the U.S..

This, as the Wall Street Journal reports, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, proposed a meeting with Trump and XI Jinping from China next month to discuss ending the war in Ukraine. Saudi Arabia has postponed its flagship conference, the Future Investment Initiative, to next year because of ongoing Houthi attacks. It is seen as a significant blow to the kingdom's ambition of positioning itself as a hub for businesses and attracting foreign capital.

So the event will now be held in 2027. Organisers say the dates will be announced soon. France will put partial curfews in place after weekend protests deteriorated into riots in Paris and other cities. Prime Minister Sebastian Le Cornu says the idea is to curb looting and other acts of delinquency. On Saturday, more than a half million people took to the streets in France to protest the high cost of living. But those demonstrations then degenerated into rioting in Paris, Marseilles and other cities.

The unrest continued last night. White House National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett says prices are falling for items like beef and eggs. Although consumer price data for September show overall inflation remains stubborn. We've more and more been looking at near-term numbers. And if you look at the previous three months, it looked like inflation was completely under control. And now it looks like it's sort of back needing some work.

The Supreme Court today refused to consider reinstating a Democratic National Labor Relations Board member fired by President Trump. The decision is a victory for Trump in a clash over white House control of federal agencies. This ruling overturns the 1935 precedent that had laid the legal groundwork for the modern administrative state.

The justices also refused to reinstate plea agreements that would have shielded three alleged nine over 11 perpetrators, and would have excused mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed from the death penalty. The defendants were challenging a decision by then Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to withdraw from the deal. The court did agree to hear an appeal that contends Montgomery County, Maryland School District is discriminating against Asian-American applicants to its magnet middle schools.

The policy puts students in an admissions lottery, and parents say the school district is using local norming to determine which students qualify. The justices also agreed to weigh in on the constitutionality of a centuries old federal law banning home distilleries. The court will likely hear oral arguments in the case early next year. The decision to follow by late June or early July, a rally and giant chip makers lifting the stock market.

The Trump administration has barred civilian U.S. government agencies from using products or services from Chinese AI startup Deep Sik, whose more affordable open weight models are a challenge to Silicon Valley developers. DHS posted the notice today on the Federal Register website, saying that federal agencies must remove any deep seed products from their systems. That order also bars the Chinese firm from participating in federal government contracts.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will remain sidelined indefinitely as blood clots now in his lungs. That could cost him the rest of the season. Hurts has deep vein thrombosis and a bilateral pulmonary emboli, and his treatment involves blood thinners, which he must be off of before he can go back to football.
