News when you want it with Bloomberg News now. I'm Matt Piper. The U.S. added fewer jobs than expected in September, and wage growth slowed, signaling some caution among employers amid rising costs. Nonfarm payrolls increased 29,000 last month, missing all estimates, and the unemployment rate rose to 4.2%, partly reflecting a growing workforce. But, says National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett on Bloomberg open interest.

Factory construction workers was up about 12,000 this month, which means it's up 112,000 since President Trump took office. So think about it, 112,000 people like that. So what about the Michigan football stadium that many people are out? There are building factories to create future jobs in the U.S. and that's about as bullish aside as I've seen for the economy since I've been watching it. Neil Dutta is with Renaissance Macro Research. I mean, you still, I think are really just on one more bad inflation number away from them pulling the trigger on a hike. I mean, if you think about going into next year, uh, the fed sees, uh, core inflation cooling to 2.5%, uh, in 2027 on a Q4, uh, over two four basis. Think about what we've seen in the first quarter of every year going back to 2023. You know, core inflation over that first quarter runs close to 4% at an annual rate.

Neil Dutta with Renaissance Macro Research, the group of seven nations and his partners are to increase as much as 100 million barrels of emergency oil and diesel stocks amid pressure from the Trump administration to quell rising fuel prices. The release, being coordinated by the International Energy Agency, will take place over the next four months as French President Emmanuel Macron. He says the G7 would like to trigger a drop in fuel prices.

The decision came after the US floated the possibility of a debilitating diesel export ban if European countries did not release more supplies. We checked the markets all day here at Bloomberg. The Dow is up 3/10 of a percent. The S&P is up 7/10. The Nasdaq is up 1.2%. Bitcoin is trading at $85,200. The two year yield is up three basis points. The ten year yield is up two basis points. Oil has been dropping. Brent is at $101 a barrel.

WTI is at $90 a barrel. New York Governor Kathy Hochul says the woman, who accused members of a Cornell University fraternity of gang rape was failed by people obligated to protect her, including police and the county prosecutor. At the heart of all this is one young woman and what she deserved from the very beginning. Every parent who sends their child off to college expects them to be safe. And if something terrible happens, the student deserves to know that the people they turn to will listen to them, protect them, and fight for them.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul, during a news conference into which she gave details on her decision to turn the case over to a special prosecutor. State Attorney General Letitia James. The Pentagon is deploying an additional aircraft carrier and 10,000 sailors and marines to the Persian Gulf, giving American commanders more options if President Trump chooses to escalate attacks on Iran. The USS Theodore Roosevelt carrier is headed to the Middle East, and when it arrives, the U.S. could again have three carrier strike groups in that region.

The US has already sent additional Patriot uh air missile uh batteries to its uh, allies in the region, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, according to Axios. Uh, which reported on the news earlier this week. So yes, there is clearly an effort underway by the use by the US to beef up its, uh, naval presence and military presence in the region. The company announced a restructuring plan that it expects will save $2.5 billion over the next five years. The initiatives were revealed alongside weaker than expected sales for the latest quarter and a disappointing outlook for this fiscal year. Poonam Goyal is a senior US e-commerce and retail analyst at Bloomberg and says the new CEO has had success. But while he has fixed his North America and performance, so we do give him credit for the that though, there's so much more.

It affects sports where roughly 50% of Nike's business is still down. Jordan is down. Bloomberg's Poonam Goyal Nike's stock is down today 5.5%. Tesla reported better than expected sales for the third quarter, delivering nearly 487,000 vehicles worldwide in the period. The results are a boon for Tesla following a period of declining auto sales and a lagging stock. The carmaker is in the midst of a planned spending spree of more than $25 billion this year to build out its factory operations and stand up their robotaxi business.

Tesla stock today is up 5%. Nvidia shares hit a record for the first time since May, after a two month sell off that wipes more than $1 trillion off its market value. The rally has been buoyed by optimism that agents could drive increased demand for semiconductors at a record $150 billion increase in Nvidia's buyback plan. Nvidia shares have gained about 27% so far this year, with its market cap now standing at roughly $5.7 trillion.
