There’s this comfort that you have to have with not knowing. And that’s kind of the allure of biology. You hope that it will go exactly how you plan it to go. But it’s almost inevitable that it will take turns. A new technique leads to a new discovery And those new discoveries change how you think.

Claude is essentially a collaborator in our scientific process. It’s going to enable us to make far more discoveries than we were previously capable of. You have to let your expectations be completely obliterated by reality. That’s the common rule of biology, is to expect the unexpected, and don’t believe it until you see it.
