UK to Give Saudi Arabia Defensive Support to Counter Houthis

Bloomberg has reported, and this was later confirmed as well, that The UK is giving Saudi Arabia some defensive power to counter the Houthi threat that's been emerging or that's been increasing over the past couple of months or so. What do we know about that side of of the story? So it's quite limited. I mean, is aerial refueling, and that's you know, I think will be taken as a positive by the Saudis. But it's it's a far cry from what we saw in, what was it, 2004, 2005 when The UK was directly engaged in attacks on Hootie positions over many, many months.

And it wasn't terribly effective. It has to be said. You know, they weren't the only ones involved in that. So I think it's a strong signal from The UK that they want to remain engaged, but, again, nothing like the scale of engagement that we saw a couple of years ago, and it's hard to see where exactly it goes next on this aerial fueling grate. Does it fundamentally change the equation? Probably not in the short term.
