This is a Bloomberg Money minute. U.S. factory output unexpectedly declining in August, the first time we've seen that happen this year, with the production of business equipment slowing as manufacturers face higher costs for energy and for raw materials. After some big gains yesterday, stocks are wavering on this Friday, with oil moving higher again. That's on worries about a squeeze on supplies coming out of Saudi Arabia.

Right now the Dow is down a third of a percent. The Nasdaq is flat. The S&P down a small fraction and oil up slightly to 102A barrel. Shares of Berkshire Hathaway are down slightly. That's after 96 year old Warren Buffett stepped down as chairman of the holding company. He's run for over half a century to become chairman emeritus. His 71 year old son, Howard, will now take over as chairman. And this year's Nobel Prize winners, which will be announced starting on October 5th through the 12th, will receive $1.27 million.
