Thank you. Thank you for having me. I will take that sassy this morning. Hi. Good morning. I'm Christina Ruffini, here with Lisa Mateo. It is Saturday, September 12th. Yes. As we mentioned, we've got President Trump in Ireland speaking at the ambassador's residence there.

You can see that on your screen if you're watching this on TV or YouTube. Uh, and then on the bottom right, they're intermittently off right now. But Prime Minister Narendra modi, uh, of India, speaking at the BRICs summit that's taking place in New Delhi. So, uh, a geopolitical split screen, metaphorical and literal on the Saturday. That's right. And this comes, you know, amid heightened tensions in Iran, especially with, uh, the strike on that, uh, East-West Saudi pipeline.

And Lisa Mateo is going to get us, uh, up to date. Lisa, what have you got? Yeah, you got it. That east west pipeline, it basically serves as a key, uh, alternative to the Strait of Hormuz for Saudi Arabia's oil exports. Now, the Ministry of Energy said it was shut as a precautionary measure. The move would follow multiple attacks on the pipeline launched from Iraq on Thursday. That closure it comes as fighting intensifies across the Middle East, with Yemen based Houthis targeting Saudi's energy facilities and the U.S. conducting strikes against Iranian oil tankers.

Now, meanwhile, at the nine over 11 ceremony at the Pentagon, President Donald Trump used part of his remarks to address the war in Iran. We salute the servicemembers working right now to ensure the world's number one sponsor of terror. The Islamic Republic of Iran, will never, ever have a nuclear weapon. In other news, anthropic says countries including Iran, Russia, China and Yemen used its AI model for weapons research, and the company says the model was misused in the past year to attempts to develop military applications, including a kamikaze, drone, swarms, missile navigation systems, and research tied to potential biological weapons.

And while anthropic gears up for what could become the biggest IPO of all time, a new investor may be stepping in. Reuters reports that Nvidia is considering investing as much as $10 billion in the company's initial public offering. Anthropic is looking to raise as much as $100 billion in the offering, which could value the company at around $2 trillion. Oracle spending more on job cuts as it deals with an expensive build out of AI data centers for customers like OpenAI.

In a filing yesterday, the company said the total cost associated with its 2026 restructuring plan, or about $2.8 billion, largely made up of severance payments to fired employees. Oracle has already accrued about 2.1 billion in costs tied to the plan and the 700 million increase. Well, that reflects, quote, additional actions that we expect to take, and OpenAI considering slowing down the development of cutting edge artificial intelligence, and is hoping other AI companies will do the same.

Sources tell Bloomberg. Sam Altman told employees in a company wide meeting that this week that OpenAI could potentially pace its AI development, possibly in conjunction with several other AI labs, but that some may not agree to do so. While this comes as employees of leading AI firms have raised public concerns about the increased risks of advanced AI systems. Christine and David Leitch A huge story this week. The anxieties surrounding AI and the potential for damage.

It was just absolutely everywhere. I mean, I think this is the part a lot of people have thought, but not really said out loud. And so to have those concerns voiced by somebody real with insider knowledge, I think it was a moment to take pause. Lisa, thank you very much. Appreciate it. We are covering several new developments on this Saturday morning. These on your screen are live pictures of President Trump in Ireland.

He met with the Irish president other leaders earlier this morning. But the war with Iran is still top of mind. Here's more of what he said moments ago about a crucial pipeline. Lisa just mentioned that came under attack in Saudi Arabia. Is Iran insightful for the attack on the east west pipeline? What do you think Saudi Arabia is to. I think they are probably there, you know, and they're on the balls of their feet right now.

But I think they are they've been in charge of that for a while. We've had, uh, discussions with the who called us and they don't want to fight with us. They let us know. They don't want to fight with me instead of want me to go after. They don't want us to go after them. But they've called and they've talked to us, and they don't want us to. They would much prefer not having us anymore. The president also says Iran is responsible for the attack.

This comes as Iran's president is in New Delhi right now for that BRICs summit. We mentioned at the top of the show, along with leaders from India, China and many other countries. Now, many of these countries have competing interests, but their goal is to play a larger role in shaping the global agenda and find some common ground. As these conflicts play out in the Middle East and Ukraine and elsewhere around the world.

We're going to start this morning with white House correspondent Jeff Mason, who's joining us from Washington. And our senior reporter, Dan Strong will join us. Just a second. He's following the developments out of New Delhi. Uh, Jeff, I know you've been monitoring what the president has been saying this morning. I do want to ask you about the Ireland trip, but first, there are a couple of moments here. I mean, the thing that strikes me is the president saying the who these called us, they don't want to fight with us.

They don't want us to go after them. They would much prefer not having us involved. There's this Axios report from earlier in the week that Mohammed bin Salman called the president, asked him to intervene. The president chose not to do that. Do we know why? No. And I it's it's hard to interpret the quotes that he was just making about that. And I guess one way that I would interpret it is that the president for some time now, has been wanting to suggest that the United States is essentially moving on from this war on Iran.

I was traveling with him this week and asked him if there were going to be talks again to reach a peace deal, and he said, we're really not looking for that, Jeff, i.e. we're not looking for peace talks. So I think it's consistent with that in that he doesn't want to emphasize or bring attention necessarily to what is clearly a very negative development for the United States in this war. And by saying that the Houthis don't want the US to to get involved or to, uh, be in a skirmish with them.

Um, I think that's just another way of playing it down. But the reality is this is a major development, and you can see that reflected in the energy markets and in the fact that, uh, oil
