亚洲股市：韩银行股受利率预期提振，中远海能涨近8%

The Stock Movers Report, your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. Let's [music] take a look at some stocks on the move today in Asia. I'm Steven Carroll and I'm joined by Bloomberg's markets reporter, Anthony Stevens. Anthony, [music] banks all around Asia are reacting to the upside rates pressure on Japan. talk us through what you're saying.

It speaks to this kind of concern around yields and what Asian central banks look to do about it. Right? They have space to increase rates. The economies in Asia are absolutely rocking in terms of the AI uh growth impetus in Japan, in Korea and in Taiwan. And we are seeing strength in the banking sector across those three countries. I also want to mention that in terms of just sheer sharp ratio, i.e. the reward you get for risk-taking, banks have been a spectacular trade all year.

Even though tech has been catching the ey line uh for for the size of the gains, tech has been a lot more volatile than banks. So for example, today you see uh you see s shinhan financial, you see KB financial, they're up 3 and a.5% to 5% depending on the time you look. Uh the topics banks index is keeping the topics up. It's up 1.6%. Uh and Cath Financial in Taiwan is up 3% as well. And this follows on from strength in the banking sector in China after reporting season as well.

China's big three banks are all trading near records.

You nearly said SK high next. I know it's just because we have such a habit of talking about chip makers on this on this program. Uh it's not though the focus that we're watching uh today. We're going to go next to fast fashion. A bad day there. What's going on?

Fast retailing is seeing a slower same uh same store sales growth in Japan, which is their home market. Uh and it's a market that they've expanded into. So, they're a little bit exposed there now that they've built all these stores and not seeing that much traffic. And that does speak to the weakness in fast fashion overall uh domestically and internationally as the middle class and lower middle-ass consumer continues to struggle in the current economic environment.

Fast retailing is down 3% helping to drag the Nikay underneath the topics. Uh and meanwhile in Hong Kong Shien our new listing is collapsing again after the week start. It's down 9% now as the stab agent in the Hong Kong IPO seems to be running out of power. Yeah, indeed. That drop in sheen shares caught my eye earlier as well. Um the escalation in the Middle East though is having a positive effect for shipping companies.

Yeah. And it continues. So some of the whippiness you you were alluding to earlier in the program is about a bunch of headlines coming out of Iran and that caused like a one and a half to 2% swing in the Cosby which is why I had SKH highix on my mind actually. But uh for shipping the story is a little bit easier in that they can charge higher rates. So the BDIY index which is marked on London close closed up 5 a half% yesterday uh and that's increasing the share prices of shippers across the region.

So China merchants energy shipping which is one of the shippers that brings uh oil to China that's up 7.8%. Uh and in Japan you have Mitsui OSK line which does all the container shipping that's up 2.7%. Uh and even in Taiwan the lines of shippers there are quite strong.
