The Stock Movers Report, your roundup of companies making moves in the stock market, harnessing the power of Bloomberg data. Let's take a look at some stocks on the move today in Europe. I'm Steven Carroll and I'm joined by Bloomberg's breaking news editor, Louise Moon. Louise, good morning. Let's start with Ryionaire moving to try and limit the impact of higher oil prices. Indeed. Yes. They've trimmed their fullear traffic goals.

So essentially passenger numbers. So they've trimmed that by 2 million from uh 200 26 million to 214 million passengers for the full year. As you say, that's to try and essentially limit their exposure to these ry rising oil prices this winter. Um aside from that, they also said that traffic from November to March will be flat year on year. Um, and they also said if these high oil prices continue into 2027, they expect short hall airfares in Europe, so not just themselves, but all of Europe to increase materially.

Um, which they expect put some pressure on rivals is what they said. Um, so kind of a host of of negative news and reaction mostly to these rising oil prices obviously all on the back of the Middle East. Having said that, they do say that they're well placed to be profitable this year, but they expect those earnings to be low below last year's profit after tax. Um so shares dipping um on the back of this. Obviously, not entirely unexpected given everything that's going on, but it's an indication of how much it's still continuing and will likely continue going forward.

Yeah. And really interesting to get a read from a company as big as Ryan Air in terms of their their reliance on energy prices as to how they're actually reacting to the movements that we're seeing on markets, too. So that's on Ryan Air. We're going to stay tangently with the energy sector if the next story is we're going to BP and them announcing a new chair.

Yes. Appointed Ian Tyler as their chair permanently. He's been interim over the summer and he's had a seat on the board since last year as well. In terms of his background, he's the former chief of Balffor bey here in the UK. He worked there for over a decade in various positions and he's currently also chair of Grafton um the building supplier company. So he's been appointed permanently. Um am Amanda Blanc uh the chief of Aviva she led that search and she announced that plans to step down from that board.

So that's the the main news this morning. Uh the kind of interesting bit really I guess is the context. It all comes after a lot of boardroom drama. So BP unexpectedly fired their previous chair in May after just 8 months. Um he was brought in to help turn the company around. Um this is all under pressure. They've been underperforming for years. um under pressure from activist investor Elliot. So he said he's get let go of that explanation.

BCP had other reasons. Um so a whole lot of boardroom drama. They'll be hoping that this uh will presumably will bring some stability and and help turn themselves around going forward. So shares rising not hugely but just over about 1 1.5%.

Yeah indeed. And look, it's interesting to think about BP shares because they they're flat at the moment in trading, but of course have been boosted so dramatically by the uh rise in oil prices this year, up by 25% year to date despite all of that changes that we've seen uh in the boardroom as you described, Louise. We're going to go to Italy next for your next stock. Some big moves from uh Lotomatica, the Italian gaming company.

Yes, so their shares fell about 6.5% in Italy. Um they that's this after some deal news. They've agreed to buy a Spanish rival in an all share deal. So that's sir sir Enterprises in Spain and their shares rose about 15% on the back of that news. So the deal is valued at about 2.8 billion euros. Um and that price is about a 21% premium compared to Cersa's previous close. Um it's expected to become effective second quarter of next year.

Um but it's a big deal in the space. It will create the second largest listed gaming operator. Uh so a huge deal there as I say 2.8 billion euros. um and shares moving in in rather opposite directions for both parties.
