Let's have a look at some of the stocks on the move today. I'm Caroline Hepker with Judy De Grado and Bloomberg's John Tucker is with us for the stocks to watch this morning. What should we be focused on today, John?

You should be focused on everything, but I'm focused right now. Would you buy a handbag from Gap?

Don't get to the bottom line of my stories here, Judy. At least according to the Journal, Gap has tapped the designer who turned Coach into a household name more than two decades ago. They are creating a new line of handbags using their signature fleece and denim. A fleece handbag, oh boy. Uh they'll soon be in a store near you. The move an attempt by Gap to become uh they're trying to be a bigger player in the $15 billion accessory category.

Uh Reed Krakoff is the executive director of accessories uh for the parent company. In addition to Coach, Krakoff has designed for Tiffany and under his own label. So, he's got the creds here. Uh for inspiration, he drew on Gap's heritage including its five-pocket jeans and hoodies. The five-pocket tote has uh classic denim details like belt loops, shank bottoms, and bar tacks. I don't even know what that is. The hoodie tote made from fleece with a Gap logo emblazoned across the front and a drawstring closure.

So, the new bags are priced from Here you go, Judy. $29.95. Maybe I'll even get you one to $148. There is one exception, a limited edition patchwork style for $498. Uh the bags again, they're going to be available in stores and online beginning September 8th.

I mean, it's the economy, right? Buy, sell. I mean, it's

We uh we got to talk about Apple considering what's happening today. Tim Cook, I guess he's already handed over the the reins of Apple uh to John Turnus this morning. This caps a tenure for Cook. I mean, it's pretty impressive. It cemented the company as an iconic global brand and also, more importantly for us, turned its stock into one of the most reliable bets. The shares under Cook have soared 2,258%. I don't think that includes dividend payment.

Um he took over from Steve Jobs after the close of trading August 24th of 2011. Cook inherited the company. Back then, it had a market cap of less than $350 billion, and he built the the company into a diverse $4.6 trillion business that also sells, you know, watches, AirPods, and financial services. Just looking here, Apple is, as far as uh market weighting in the S&P 500, it's number two, uh right behind Nvidia, of course.

Um right now, key driver revenue has also been Apple services. In fiscal 2025, the company generated more than $109 billion for that business alone. Uh Cook did oversee successful product launches like the Apple Watch, the AirPods, but uh others like Vision Pro headset, they that was uh Can I call it a failure?

Yeah, that was more of a flop. Well, and also, I think you got to add in there the legacy of Jony Ive, fellow great designer. You can't ignore that, can we? Okay, so that's on Apple. And lastly,

Lastly, I mean these guys benefited during um um the pandemic, but Shein Global Holdings the shares long-awaited market debut uh coming I'll say in an awkward time. The fast fashion retailer peak growth years behind it just as tariffs and regulatory pressure intensifying competition shares falling as much as 10% early in their Hong Kong debut today. A pretty weak reception for a $1.7 billion initial public offering a capping a a year's long listing effort.

This deal did value Shein at a fraction of its peak private valuation. Investors still all questioning whether company's growth outlook justifying the price for the stock. The the challenge is that Shein is reaching public markets after the explosive expansion during the pandemic that made it the global fast fashion powerhouse. [music] Shein.
