GoPro宣布并购Starman Optical，股价盘中涨逾50%

Let's bring in Carmen Reini now for a check on some stocks on the move. Scarlett Fu and Stacy Vanxmith here with you on Bloomberg Intelligence. Carmen, get us started.

Yeah, so I'm really looking at a bunch of stocks that are bucking the trend today. First is GoPro. So this is ticker GPRO. This stock is up about 50% right now. It's just shy of a record intraday gain for this company though I think for let me see. Yeah uh on a closing basis it's still on track for a recorded one day jump. So what happened is this morning uh this company entered into a definitive merger agreement with another company called Starman Optical which is a privately held optical photonix company.

Um, so we don't have a ton more information about necessarily what this means, but it looks like it could be a bid actually to kind of go more into the optical space, which is seen actually a a big runup um in revenues because of AI. So interesting move there. GoPro, I think, used to be a much sort of bigger name. The company's gotten pretty small now, but huge jump today, more than 50% intraday. The next stock I'm looking at is FVO Energy.

So this is ticker FRVO. seeing another sort of AI related jump today. The shares are up 22% right now. This is the most uh since the end of July. So, um this is a geothermal developer and it signed a deal to sell almost 400 megawatts of power to uh a Google to Google Alphabetics Google for a prospective data center in Utah. Exactly. Right. So, we're just another really great, you know, infrastructure AI infrastructure trade that we're seeing here in Furbo. shares getting a really nice bump here.

And what else are you looking at this morning?

Yeah, so last one. So I'm looking at shares of Medronic. This is ticker MDT. And this stock has actually come in a little bit. It was up as much as sort of five five and a halfish percent intraday. It's about 1% um up right now. So that move has come in a little bit, but it had earnings. Um and this is a medical device maker. It boosted its organic revenue forecast for the full year. It also posted adjusted profit and revenue for the fiscal first quarter that beat the analyst average analyst estimate.

And uh analysts have really uh sort of cheered this report. They said it's a solid beat and raise to start the year. Um Bloomberg Intelligence's own analyst saying um it sounds like this the some of the things that they said should aid a pivot to the company's robotic strategy.
