This is a Bloomberg Money minute. Triple H says the average price for a gallon of regular gas nationwide today $4.08. And for the past month, gas prices have been the highest ever for the month of August. Meantime, President Trump says the U.S. now plans to use billions of barrels of crude seized from Venezuela to refill the US's depleted emergency reserves. And with oil right now higher back above $85 a barrel. After the U.S. resumed missile strikes on Iran overnight for the first time in more than a month.

That's got Wall Street a little rattled. And right now stocks are lower. The Dow is down two thirds of a percent. The Nasdaq a third of a percent lower. The S&P is down half a percent. The AI chipmaker Nvidia investing $3.5 billion into the Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek. That's to help build more of its chips. And shares of GameStop are up more than 3% after predicting sales of the video game and collectibles retailer fell higher than expected last quarter.
