Let's take a look at some [music] stocks on the move today. I'm Karen Moscow. We're joined by Bloomberg's Air Abu Omar Air. Good morning. Let's start off. You're watching PG&E. Those shares on the move. What are you seeing? Yeah, good morning Karen. PG& are the shares are dropping between 10 and 11% on early trading and also Edison International which is part of the same story is also lower by around 6% at this point.

So California legislators have introduced a bill that would update its wildfire response without shifting liability away from publicly traded utilities. And you also have the governor Gavin Newsome's administration had looked to sort of bar insurers from suing utilities to recover payouts to policyh holders after a fire. So this measure would have helped protect PG&E and Edison from potentially massive liabilities if down power lines or other equipment causes fires.

And so you're seeing both stocks really reacting to this uh legislation and and dropping in early uh hours of trading. And you're also watching oil stocks as well.

Yeah. From the Middle East, you have the likes of Exxon, Chevron, Kono Phillips, and Accidental are all rising. No surprise there. Brent crude, NY Crude both accelerating this morning. And this is of course on the back of these renewed escalations in the Middle East. military escalations happening yet again between the United States and Iran with the United States overnight here launching an attack against Iran for saying that it was going to launch rocket launchers to have mines in the street of Hermuz and then Iran retaliating by hitting air bases in Jordan but also territorial water uh waters here in [music] uh the United Arab Emirates.
