I'm Nathan Hager, joined by Bloomberg's Dan Curtis on a morning of some pretty important earnings out [music] before the opening bell, including deer. What did we learn, Dan? Good morning.

Good morning, Nathan. We learned that uh the fiscal third quarter earnings came in above estimates and the company is also lifting the low end of its fiscal year net income guidance that has shares up about 2 and a.5% in the pre-market under ticker DE. CEO John May said the company sees the bottom of the current agriculture equipment cycle this year. Sales of tractors and the like have been under pressure for years.

We've had high fertilizer and fuel costs weighs weighing on the farmers and low crop prices haven't been helping. The company has paired back production to maintain inventory levels. The stock has kind of been maintained with that, but grain prices have started to come back recently. They've been hitting multi-year highs. So, this might help prompt farmers to spend more. The CEO sounds confident and that confidence is building into the pre-market.

And our earnings story goes international as well because we got results from e-commerce giant Alibaba and these look pretty good.

So, the shares have been very volatile off the back of them. In some ways, they look really good. The shares are down almost 1% under uh for the ADRs under ticker BABA. So as I said uh so the company has a new uh restructured business segment. So it's taking a little bit while longer I think for the market to kind of read through figure out all the impact but overall 9% jump in revenue that matched the estimates. Uh net income fell 75% and cash free cash flow came in at a negative $6.6 billion.

That's due to spending on cloud infrastructure, which we've been seeing kind of across the board in companies like these. On the plus side, cloud sales jumped 45%, the fastest pace in years. Compare that against AI apps and models, which grew at a slower 16%. It's just reinforcing the idea that the most lucrative part of AI right now is selling the tokens and not the subscriptions. So, Alibaba has increasingly bet on its AI and cloud business to drive future growth.

Those shares are kind of been very volatile in the pre-market and they're down just about 1% right now. Well, speaking of volatile, we got to talk about Madna after the huge surge from that uh cancer vaccine news. Um looks like they're coming back down just a bit.

Yeah. So, Madna mRNA is down about 10% in the pre-market and as you said, absolutely massive day yesterday. 177% rally off the back of that melanoma vaccine and there was a lot of excitement over the results. There was also a lot of shorts getting squeezed. Short interest was around 14% of shares outstanding according to exchange information. So those large rallies can force short sellers to cover the positions. That probably adding a bit of the frenzy to the share buying yesterday.

So that lulling in the pre-market, but there still is a lot of in, you know, a lot of volume behind this stock today. And despite yesterday's surge, I'll just point out the shares are still over 60% below their peak from 5 years ago during peak co demand. So, they did see a big pop, but they have seen bigger rallies in the past off of well what was a very global event.

Now, we're seeing a pretty big pop in some cryptoreated shares as well um after we uh saw that event at the White House yesterday.

Yeah, this is this is politics playing out in the market. So, we have uh companies like Strategy, ticker MSTR, that's up 10%. It's also worth noting Bitcoin's up 4% today, which is adding to, you know, the rally behind the the crypto um the crypto treasury company. And then another company uh hyperlquid which trades under ticker purr that is up seven and a half percent. So this crypto stocks benefiting from the rise in bitcoin.
