美最高法院驳回特朗普上诉，伯克希尔增持谷歌母公司

This is a Bloomberg money minute. The U.S. Supreme Court today rejecting President Trump's second attempt to avoid paying writer Jean Carroll $5.6 million for sexually abusing and defaming her. That includes a $5 million reward from a jury in the 2023 civil verdict plus interests. Trump is also asking the highest court in the land to consider overturning an $83 million jury verdict that Carroll also won in a second defamation lawsuit on Wall Street.

Stocks are mostly lower on a pretty quiet start to the new week. Oil is flat. It's around $82 a barrel. No sign of any advancement in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. And President Trump is now threatening to attack Oman if it interferes with the U.S. naval blockade in that strait. Right now, the Dow down about a 4/10 of a percent. The Nasdaq is flat, the S&P 500 down a small percentage. And regulatory filings show Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway increase its stake in Google's parent company, alphabet.
