美联储维持利率不变,韩国股市暴跌44%
OMG... The Fed is about to BLOW UP Crypto!?
美联储维持利率不变是已落地的政策决定,且韩国股市暴跌是重大市场事件,对加密和股市投资者有直接影响,建议关注后续加息预期和韩国市场动态。
Today, as you know, our committee decided to vote by a 9 to 3 vote to maintain the target range for the federal funds rate at 3 and 1/2 to 3 and 3/4%.
Massive macro catalysts are happening around the world today and this week that directly affect cryptocurrency holders. Smash the like button and let's start here. Just in, the Fed officially leaves interest rates unchanged at 3.5 to 3.75%. [music] This is the fifth straight meeting with unchanged interest rates, the longest Fed pause since '08. It was not unanimous, however, with a vote of 9 to 3 with three dissenting votes by commissioners in favor of interest rate hikes.
Kevin Warsh reiterating a potentially hawkish stance saying that they are committed to the 2% inflation goal.
For some households, businesses, and market professionals, 5 years of high inflation have left a mistaken impression that's hard to shake that the Fed's implicit inflation target was somehow above 2%. Let me reiterate, there is no soft inflation target. [music] There is no soft implicit target not on this committee's watch. There's only a target and it's [music] 2%.
Warsh doubling down with the same statement from last FOMC meeting, we will deliver price stability.
The committee remains resolute. You've heard this before, but we will deliver price stability.
So, although rates remain unchanged for now and there's this [music] looming thought that rate hikes are on the horizon, we'll have to wait until September now. Just three more FOMC meetings left in 2026. Will we get a rate hike in September? What about October? What about December? A lot of volatility today as this is what the market is trying to price in. Another big macro catalyst affecting the crypto market today and all markets, absolutely incredible. In an unprecedented move, South Korea's stock market just collapsed 44% in 40 days, [music] erasing 2 trillion in market cap. Now South Korea's finance ministry is scrambling for what to do about this.
Now at Altcoin Daily, we're always going to give you the full story and what a lot of people aren't reporting about this news is that this collapse comes after just record gains. Consider this, everyone is freaking out about the Korean stock market being down 35 to 45% this month, but consider it's still up 75% this year. And look at this. If you look at the five-year chart, you can see it actually went parabolic in 2026 as they cryptofied the market.
South Korea has already done what the US is in the process of doing and their stock market went crazy because of crypto, blow-off top as everybody was taking out leverage and now correction. The crypto market in America is probably here today if not here today. Just take a look at what's going on around you. Morgan Stanley launches the cheapest Ethereum Solana ETFs out of the entire financial industry, passing 100% of the staking rewards directly to investors.
And you're bearish on crypto? Bullish? The S&P Dow Jones is launching a crypto index. 18 crypto coins included in this index with at the moment the top digital assets being Ethereum, BNB, Solana, Tron, and Hype. But why wasn't Bitcoin included? Why did the S&P Dow Jones not include historically the best crypto asset by market share and market cap? Well, the reason is, just like the Korean stock market cryptofied their financial system, and we saw this happen, the US is cryptofying their system, and crypto moving forward will be very different than crypto in the past.
Bloomberg Intelligence's senior crypto market structure analyst explains why the S&P Dow Jones's new crypto index won't include Bitcoin. Ethereum, Tron, Binance, Cardano, yes. Bitcoin, no. Smash the like button, guys. Support the channel. Listen to this incredible perspective.
Ethereum, whether it's a Tron chain, Binance Coin, Cardano, these are all platforms. These Yes, they're tokens, but they're platform development platforms in which other commercial businesses are built. So, S&P is basically come up with a benchmark for all crypto assets. It's a institutional grade benchmark. So, this is the first major benchmark for institutions to actually say, "If you want to put 10 million, $100 million, how do we sort of divide that?
What's the benchmark against which we should invest?" So, first of all, let me credit them for coming up with a benchmark with Pantera Capital, which has been in the business for the last 10 year 10 years. There's very clear parallels to the S&P 500 when it got constructed back in 1957. Now, it's been 70 years. It's been a long time, but there are some parallels in the sense that this is the first industrial institutional grade benchmark
Mhm. that Pantera is going to manage that about 16 tokens they're going to invest in. Bitcoin is not one of them. And let me explain why. If you look at how Bitcoin has been performing last 2 years, it's a different almost different asset classes. It's more akin to gold compared to the other tokens, which I'm we've got more equity-like characteristics. Ethereum, whether it's a Tron chain, Binance Coin, Cardano, these are all platforms.
These Yes, they're tokens, but they're platform development platforms in which other commercial businesses are built. So, you can evaluate them as an investment opportunity for the investment that they support. Bitcoin is very different. So, yes, it seems quite odd that Bitcoin is not part of it, but I think that's actually quite deliberate recognizing what's actually happening with Bitcoin anyway, that's operating very differently than other tokens.
Do you really have like 30 seconds left, but does it create some sort of bifurcation when you think of like Bitcoin as one asset class and then sort of the the yield-generating stuff as another?
It absolutely creates a bifurcation, Tim, but I guess like I said, it's it's not that S&P's S&P's recognizing what's been happening anyway. Institutions are allocating very differently when it comes to Bitcoin versus all other tokens.
With just but a few working days left before the Senate goes on August recess, the Clarity Act seems to me to be dying a slow death. This hasn't stopped plenty of important financial entities coming out and saying, "Guys, please pass this." Franklin Templeton says the industry needs clarity. SoFi Bank CEO just today came out in support of the Clarity Act saying clarity establishes clear rules for digital assets. The time is now for everybody to get together to support this.
Congress should pass it immediately. The Consumer Technology Association has thrown its support behind the Clarity Act saying, "America should be competitive in blockchain and digital asset technologies. We respectfully urge you to prioritize Senate floor consideration of the Clarity Act. Also, the Digital Currency Group sending a letter to the Senate say, "We respectfully urge you to schedule a floor vote on the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act before the August recess."
Is there a chance Clarity Act actually goes through? Yes, but every day that passes, it seems less and less likely. Now, the good thing is, let's use the SEC as an example, the SEC is still prepared to establish crypto regulations if Congress fails to pass the Clarity Act.
We are ready, willing, and able to come out with uh rules, um you know, that that address the same issues uh in clarity and and other aspects of the crypto market. Ultimately, we need the certainty of a statute that will help future-proof so that we have clear direction and uh uh to to go for.
But with so many bottom indicators piling up every day, Michael Saylor sold, BitMEX failed, Clarity Act dying a slow death, rate hikes still looming, maybe in September, and Bitcoin is still over 60K? Fairlead's Katie Stockton says Bitcoin s
