OpenAI has hit back at Apple's trade secrets lawsuit, calling it a "careless, aggressive and oddly personal" attack on the company.

The suit landed last month, when Apple claimed OpenAI stole hardware designs while building AI gadgets of its own.

OpenAI just published the raw messages and emails behind Apple's trade secrets lawsuit, including the 5 months of silence before the suit landed.

The case accuses two former Apple employees, Tang Tan and Chang Liu, of carrying confidential material into their new jobs.

Those 2 (Apple and OpenAI ) were partners until recently, since ChatGPT was wired into Apple software and neither side chased the same customer.

The mood changed after OpenAI bought io, the studio founded by former Apple design chief Sir Jony Ive, and kept hiring from Cupertino.

Apple's filing says more than 400 of its former employees now work at OpenAI, and it names 2 of them.
