Rumor has it that Opus 5 will surpass the current Fable 5. However, that would undermine the "Mythos-class" tier itself. A new "Fable 5.5" would have to be released simultaneously to allow Opus 5 to outperform Fable 5.

Anthropic is thus facing significant contradictions,especially since an Opus 5 that outperforms Fable 5 would almost certainly have to contend with regulatory hurdles from US authorities.
