OpenAI’s CEO of AGI deployment, Fidji Simo, is stepping down for health reason.

Simo will leave daily leadership and remain a part-time advisor after medical leave.

OpenAI hired her in May-25 from Instacart to turn powerful models into paid products.

She had a very important role and sat between research and revenue.

Simo previously ran consumer platforms at Facebook and Instacart before joining OpenAI.

She stepped away from OpenAI in April for a medical leave.

Greg Brockman had already been handling product work while Simo was on medical leave, and now Simo is formally stepping down from daily leadership while staying connected as a part-time advisor.
