Bloomberg Money Minute: Comcast Media Spin Off, Prime Day Sales, Fed Court Ruling
This is a Bloomberg Bunny minute. A lot of positivity on Wall Street this morning. That's as we kick off the holiday shortened week. Comcast among the gainers at word of plans to spin off NBC universal and Sky into a new publicly traded company as it separates media from cable TV and internet. We spent a lot of money during Amazon Prime days. Adobe says online spending across all retailers in the US hit $26.4 billion during Prime Day sales last week. That's up 9.3% from last year. But that doesn't mean business was great for Amazon. Numerator says the average household spent on the 143 bucks on Amazon during the four days, down 8.3% from last year, and shed watchers getting some key headlines this morning. The Supreme Court refusing to let President Trump immediately fire Fed Governor Lisa Cook in a case that tested the central bank's independence from the white House. Voting for the High court said cook can stay in her job while she fights the president's bid to oust her over unproven mortgage fraud allegations. Denise Pellegrini Bloomberg.
